Stonecutter is an incredible hand made flat glass sculpture. Created out of one solid plate of glass which is cut and reassembled.
The Stonecutter began as a large flat plate, made with the same type of patterning as with my vases and other sculptures. The plate is then cut and re-constructed to create the sculpture. These forms and colors are inspired by one of my favorite childhood books, “The Stonecutter” by Gerald McDermott. The collage technique he uses for the illustrations has been an inspiration for me in many of my works.
