MURRINE BOWL / ORANGE is fashioned from mosaic elements laid out to accentuate the interaction of colors as you look into and through. The hundreds of tiny tiles that make up the mosaic elements are drawn into long pieces, fused and re drawn multiple times to achieve this level of detail. The mosaic itself is then fused in the heat of the glassblowing furnace, sculpted and blown into shape. Complex patterning and overlay of pattern and texture interact in different ways depending on the light, so you will see something different each time you look at it.
